In a democracy, it must be possible to hold the government to account. This means more than just being able to oust the fuckers at the next election. IMO, Brown (and others) are guilty of culpable negligence with regard to the safety of military personnel.
Scarfe is wonderful isn't he ! K, so now the Govt. are running a bit scared and have promised some decent kit for the forces, let's make sure they don't backslide during their enormous holidays.
Banned, I'm positive that Browneye will try to kick this into the long grass again over the summer holidays so I totally agree with you about not letting it slip.

Agree completely - this labour govt has shown parliamentary democracy and 'the voice of the people' to be a sham. It needs complete reform.
A funny but sad, and true, portrayal of the times.
It is scary when the government no longer listens to the people.
This government has never listened to the people. Even its 'consultations' are shams.
Great cartoon!
Thanks for the comments everyone, I don't know how this excuse for a man sleeps at night.
Gerald Scarfe nicked this idea from my pic of "Gordon the Little Helicopter" - the thieving hack!!!
Just kidding, Scarfe is my fave cartoonist and this one says it all :-)
Spidie, I'm adding you to my blogroll today. :-D
Hi Gigits - sometimes he just gets it so right and this is one of those times.
