Music: That Catchy Song From The Heineken Advert - Love It!

You know that really catchy song in the new Heineken commercial?

Well, I liked it so much that I went and tracked it down on You Tube and I can't understand why it hasn't been a huge hit before now!

As well as being a great recording, the singer is also extremely easy on the eye, (down, boys!), and as a whole musical concept it's absolutely brilliant!

Here you go, folks, enjoy.......

  2. James,,,I respectively disagree, not on the looks mind you as I thought the very same, but rather the sound.

It seemed to me a heroin induced mix between Blondie and Charo with a little George Michael thrown in. God, I thought Rap was bad?

  3. Hi Spidey, that was interesting ;) , I do think they had "help" in making it.
    The singer is pretty!
I hope your weekend is going well! I'm celebrating.

  4. They made this a couple of years ago, Bunni, and it's taken until now for them to get a break with it - something, (or rather, someone), in the hit-making machine, either at the record company or the management level, wasn't doing their job properly. *DONT_KNOW*

This is the advert I first heard it in ;)

  5. If the record company/management do their job right, anything is possible, James - obviously it's a whole different vocal and instrumental approach but there is most definitely that certain spark, here - it's unusual and she's also got "IT" in abundance! ;)

The other thing is that if you listen to it a few times it really sticks - I can't get it out of my head - it's such an infectious tune/vocal. 8-)

  6. Don't worry, Christopher, I'm fine, mate - I've just always tried to stay open-minded about music. Every so often something comes along that grabs my attention and this is one of those times - I kept hearing it on television in the Heineken advert, (video posted here in my reply to Bunni), and it got me straight away. I love the whole, almost "throwaway" approach to the vocals and the video and, for me, it just has a general, excellent feelgood factor to it. I'm not saying she's a technically brilliant singer but her vocals are perfect for this song and the unique sound of this band. ;) :-D :-P

  9. For whatever reason I found the song more agreeable in the commercial? Maybe all the action going on?

  10. See what I mean? Listen to it a few more times and it will get stuck in your head, mate - relentlessly stuck in your head - to me, it meets all the criteria for a real winner of a hit that's just dying to happen. ;)

  11. That's not something that had occurred to me but it is cheeky, quirky, unusual - whatever way you look at it, it's different and I've been around the music business for long enough to know a hit when I hear one. ;)

And it seems that other people agree with me, too - the number of hits on You Tube now stand at 2,208,697 - not bad! :-P

  23. I like the commercial version better. It is shorter, and the flute fillin is just right.

  24. That's the version I first heard, TS/WS, I think the action in the commercial is just right for it - they seem to have also shot a complete video for the song around this setting and used a lot of the footage that appears in the advert. ;) :-P
